Walls are Meant for Climbing

Date: Sat, Aug 24
Time: 9 AM to 2 PM
Volunteers Needed
Gym CLOSED to public
OPEN to members

Two years ago, The North Face launched Walls Are Meant For Climbing, a global movement that brought people together from around the world to celebrate how welcoming and inclusive the climbing community can be. In one day, over 20,000 people and over 50 climbing gyms participated.

This year CityROCK and The North Face are partnering again for a day of celebration that has inclusivity at its core. CityROCK has invited local nonprofits to climb at CityROCK for free from 9 AM to 2 PM on Aug 24. These nonprofits will bring underprivileged members of our community in to experience climbing. Last year, these groups called the experience empowering, fun, and unforgettable.  CityROCK will be CLOSED to the public during this time (sorry, no day passes) and OPEN to CityROCK members. Members, the gym will be busy. You're welcome to use the training floor and to climb. Please help welcome our WAMFC climbers to our gym!

We need volunteers to help climbers experience CityROCK by: helping them get in harnesses and shoes, clipping them into autobelays, belaying climbers, and bouldering with them. If you would like to volunteer please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or sign up at the Beta Center.

Volunteers, please bring harness, shoes, and belay device if you have them. Thank you!
