200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at CityROCK

200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Christine Malmborg

CityROCK’s Yoga Teacher Training program is for all seekers looking to travel further on their yogic path. If you are looking to deepen your practice, uncover your authentic voice, share the gifts of yoga with students and, earnestly live the lessons of yoga, then this is the perfect program for YOU. Teaching yoga is a path of self-discovery, shared inspiration, and service. We would be honored to share this path with you.

Our comprehensive program will engage students in the study of Yoga Postures (asana), Functional Anatomy for Yoga, Techniques in Alignment, Breathing (Pranayama), History of Yoga, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Subtle Body Energy, Ayurveda, Sequencing, Theming, Assists and Adaptations, and Additional Yoga Practices (Meditation, Mudra, Mantra, Chanting, and more). Our program integrates alignment-based asana technique with principles of Vinyasa movement. Our course gives hands-on practice teaching, with one-on-one mentoring. Our mission is to develop empowered teachers through an emphasis on personal growth, preparing graduates with the tools and understanding to teach yoga with confidence and clarity.

As with everything we do here at CityROCK, we take a community-oriented approach to delivering this program, by emphasizing the importance of healthy, supportive relationships. Your director, teachers and your peers will support you just as you will support them.

Graduates will leave prepared with a full skill-set for teaching yoga to a broad demographic in a variety of settings. Graduates will also leave with the understanding that a yoga teacher does not have all the answers, but rather continually learns to perceive and grow to meet each student’s needs.

Our training is truly transformative – You’ll experience teachings that ask you to examine your perception of yourself and dive deep into your own personal practice. You’ll be encouraged to step outside your comfort zone and learn about yourself. You’ll then become empowered to teach from a place of skill and authenticity. Live up to your highest potential – recognize that you have something special to offer - YOU can make a difference in the world!

“Our life experiences give us a distinct perspective and therefore a unique voice of guidance to offer others. Just as yoga itself is a guide, it attracts guides. I firmly believe that if someone hears the calling to become a yoga instructor, they should listen to their heart and pursue that path. We cultivate abundance in our life by listening to our inner guide and by doing what we love. To teach Yoga is to give others the opportunity to find their own inner guide along this incredible journey of Yoga and therefore in life.” ~Christine Malmborg, Program Director

"My time learning under Christine can best be described with one word: Divine. From the day I met Christine, I knew I had connected with someone special, and I appreciated that she had recognized and pursued my love of and talent for yoga. Learning from Christine was always fun, enlightening, and I always stepped away from her teachings more prepared to step confidently into the role of yoga instructor. Her careful instruction and encouraging leadership throughout the program made me feel supported and excited for the future! I now know that I am a capable instructor that can not only get students into poses, but who can also offer opportunities for a deeper yoga experience - and this is because of my experiences working with Christine. Any yoga student looking to deepen their practice or to become an instructor themselves need look no further, they’ve found their guru in Christine!" Meghan S.

"When I started teacher training I had no idea it would change my life. To be honest I had no idea if I was even going to be able to teach because I did not think I was flexible enough or yoga teacher “worthy.” Going though the training, I had learned so much about yoga and myself. During the training, I learned a lot of my body, my strengths and weaknesses, and most importantly Myself and how I should embrace my personality and let it shine through in my classes. Once I realized this, and with the help my amazing mentor Christine, this shaped me in becoming the yoga teacher I am today. Because of this, I felt more empowered to pursue a fulltime career as a yoga instructor and learned to never stop being a student. I recommend yoga teacher training to anyone and everyone wanting to know a little bit more about themselves. Even if you do not pursue a yoga career, you will leave the training having discovered your strengths, deepened your asana practice, and mostly likely even forged new relationships. You will fall. You will stumble. You will fumble over your words. You will learn the art of picking yourself up, laughing it off and continuing on. You will walk out of your training with a new sense of how much you can do, how far you can go, and how amazing you are—right here in this moment." Courtney C.
